Curriculum
Shawnee Weekday Early Learning Center use Creative Curriculum® in our approach to learning in our classrooms. Each day we offer appropriate play experiences using learning centers and small group activities including: Social-emotional, physical, language and cognitive development, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, the arts and English language acquisition.
We use a variety of teaching materials to prepare your child for formal school as well as for a lifetime of learning. Our hands on approach to learning will afford your child lots of exploration and opportunities for self-directed discovery that will enhance his or her self-esteem. The physical development of your young child is important too, that is why active play is a big part of our program. Learning through themes and interest areas will keep your child interested and engaged in active learning.
Seeds of Faith
Shawnee Weekday Early Learning Center is rich in cultural and religious diversity. All children, regardless of culture, faith or church affiliation, are welcome at Shawnee Weekday Early Learning Center. We believe that young children are capable of learning and understand beginning concepts of the Christian faith. We refer to these concepts as “Seeds of Faith.” Your child will have the opportunity each week to participate in Bible stories, songs and activities that teach about God’s love for them.
Daily Schedule
The Infant Toddler Building (6 weeks through 36 months; non-potty trained) provides care to the littlest members of our community Monday-Friday from 6 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The Preschool Building (3 years old-6th grade latchkey; potty trained) serves the community Monday-Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
Whether your child is in a half-day preschool classroom, or extended day preschool classroom, structured lesson time using Creative Curriculum® is scheduled.
